Bialetti on the verge of bankruptcy
The manufacturer of the legendary coffee makers is close to bankruptcy. The company indicated in a press release that it is not certain that it will remain in the market, despite the struggle with growing competition and economic difficulties, including those of capsule machines. Bialetti’s current debt is currently EUR 68 million.
Alfonso Bialetti invented cafes in the 1930s and since then they have become part of the kitchen equipment of millions of Italian homes and more. For many years, the Company has produced 105 million aluminium cafes, an icon of Italian design.
