Conference on the directions of development of the debt restructuring market

On 22 November 2018 in Warsaw, a conference on the directions of development of the debt restructuring market was held, organized by the Polish Bank Association. One of the speakers was a partner of our law firm – attorney PhD Patryk Filipiak.

During the conference, topics related to the principles of pre-court financial debt restructuring, as well as issues related to the EU directive on the legal framework for preventive restructuring, second chance and measures to increase the effectiveness of restructuring, bankruptcy and debt redemption proceedings were discussed.

During their presentations, the speakers pointed out that the most important thing in restructuring proceedings is a sufficiently quick response time to emerging financial problems, the choice of a leader who will help the debtor to go through restructuring, as well as financial support for restructuring and the lack of aggressive action on the part of financing creditors.
