Coface report: number of bankruptcies and restructuring increased by 1,2 %

The latest Coface report shows that the number of bankruptcies and open restructurings in the first three quarters of 2019 increased by 1,2 % compared with the same period in 2018. At the same time, the report shows that the number of insolvencies will increase in subsequent quarters.

In the period in question, the Courts declared bankruptcy and opened restructuring proceedings against 737 entities, of which 412 were declared bankrupt. In turn, the number of open restructurings increased by 5% to 325 open proceedings. At the same time, the report indicates that the most frequently chosen restructuring procedure by debtors is accelerated arrangement procedures (70%).

The data presented in the report show that in the first three quarters of 2019 an increase in bankruptcy and restructuring was recorded in the transport sector (34%) and in the commercial sector (9%). The following sectors recorded an improvement: manufacturing, construction and services.
