Astral Holidays has declared bankruptcy
The Bulgarian travel agency, which was the largest partner of Thomas Cook, went bankrupt. The company was active in the Bulgarian market for 24 years and sent around 200,000 people on holiday every year. Astral Holidays was one of the three largest Bulgarian tour operators.
Last year’s revenues of Astral Holidays amounted to EUR 15.6 million and the profit amounted to EUR 115 thousand.
Since 2013, the company has been cooperating with Thomas Cook and organizing trips for Bulgarian tourists. In addition, it was one of the few companies to have its own charter program.
In addition to Lightyear Holidays, it is expected that Thomas Cook will also have 50 large hotels that will not receive compensation from the insurer Thomas Cook under the terms of the agreements.
