More dismissals of bankruptcy applications than bankruptcies

According to the latest data presented by the Central Economic Information Centre, in 2019, the Insolvency Courts declared the bankruptcy of a total of 586 companies and dismissed 759 applications for bankruptcy. This means that the number of declared bankruptcies in 2019 was 5% lower than in 2018.

Most bankruptcy applications were filed in January (67) and March (57).

The President of the Central Economic Information Centre Jarosław Nowrotka indicated that the bankruptcy petitions were dismissed due to lack of assets to cover the costs of bankruptcy proceedings.

This means that many debtors have already had problems with settling their liabilities when filing bankruptcy applications.
