PKP Cargo problems
The Polish rail freight operator reported multi-million losses this year.
According to the company’s president, these losses are caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which contributed to the decline in the number of shipments. The Polish carrier’s counterparts in the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria have similar problems.
Trade union representatives indicate that another problem is bad management of the company. Experts add that the situation is also not being improved by the company’s policy based on not noticing small contractors and faster response of private competitors to customer needs.
