Polish health care in restructuring
Work is underway on an act aimed at restructuring the Polish health care system.
The Ministry of Health considers that the causes of the existing problems of the health service are too dispersed structure, manifested in too many bodies making decisions about establishing hospitals. This is to change. It is planned to centralize this authority and transfer it exclusively to the Ministry of Health, universities and voivodship marshals. In addition, to improve hospital management, it is intended to create a new profession, the so-called health care manager, i.e. a person specially prepared to manage hospitals.
