The acquisition of Eurozet is questionable
The Office of Consumer Protection and Competition (UOKiK) objected to the takeover of Eurozet by Agora.
UOKiK justified the negative decision on the acquisition of Eurozet by Agora by disturbing competition on the market. The Office stated that as a result of this acquisition, Agora would create a duopoly jointly with Eurozet and RMF FM.
Agora’s representatives question the legitimacy of this decision. They expressed this by filing an appeal to the District Court in Warsaw. They refer to the opinions of experts who question the legitimacy of UOKiK’s decisions.
It is worth recalling that Eurozet is a media holding grouping companies operating on the media market. Since 2018, it has been managed by the Czech company Czech Media Invest, which in 2019 sold to Agora – the Polish entertainment and media group – 40% of its shares.
