The Piekarskie Centrum Medyczne is struggling with serious financial problems resulting from the small lump sum of the National Health Fund (NFZ) for medical services and treatments. An internal audit showed that the facility’s chance of survival lies in carrying out a thorough restructuring. As part of the proposed measures, it is planned to reduce expenses by closing individual hospital wards and reducing employment.
The hospital is financially supported by the city authorities, which appealed to the government for help.
