Shopping center owners are asking for intervention
The owners of shopping centers are asking for the intervention of the European Commission.
On June 30, the president signed an amendment to the covid act, thus sanctioning the changes proposed by the parliament regarding the amount of rents paid by tenants in shopping malls during the next possible lockdowns and 3 months after their end (we wrote about it here).
The introduced changes provoked an immediate reaction of the Polish Council of Shopping Centers (PRCH), whose representatives expressed their opposition already at the stage of announcing the changes, declaring that these provisions were unfavorable for them. As previously announced, PRCH sent a letter to the European Commission, in which it informed that the Polish government had ignored the situation of one of the parties and had granted illegal state aid to tenants.
