Increasingly indebtedness

Increasingly indebtedness

The National Debt Register shows that the debt of Polish companies is increasing.

The data presented at the end of July show that Polish enterprises have indebtedness in the total amount of nearly PLN 11.5 billion. Out of this amount, these enterprises have the greatest arrears towards companies from the financial sector, namely towards: banks, debt collection, leasing, insurance and factoring companies. Next, companies dealing with trade and industry are loss-making.

Among the legal forms of Polish companies generating payment backlogs, not sole proprietorships, as one might expect, dominate, but mostly companies and large enterprises.

Experts say the scale of the debt is exacerbated by the economic situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which may induce entrepreneurs to take action to survive at any cost.
