Rafako tries to overcome the crisis

Rafako is trying to recover from the crisis. He is to be helped by the group layoffs process, which will last until the end of the year.

Rafako has reached an agreement with trade union organizations. A reduction of 190 posts is planned. The redundancy process is to be carried out in accordance with the principles of objectivity, transparency and Rafako’s economic interests. Interested employees will be able to take advantage of the so-called monitored dismissals.

Until recently, Rafako, after the decision on the arrangement in the simplified restructuring procedure became final, had a problem with finding an investor. The investment in Jaworzno, which turned out to be a failure a month ago, was to help the company in repairing the crisis. A huge coal-fired unit at the Jaworzno III Power Plant, moments after it was put into operation, was shut down due to faults.

Interest in the purchase of the company’s shares was shown by Polimex-Mostostal together with its subsidiary Tauron (Nowe Jaworzno Grupa Tauron (NJGT)) and support from the Polish Development Fund (PFR). These companies would form a consortium to invest in Rafako, which could help Rafako recover from the starts.
