Polmlek will take over Ceko

The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has approved Polmlek’s takeover of cheese producer Ceko.

Polmlek is one of the biggest players on the Polish dairy market. The terms of the takeover of Ceko, which belongs to private equity fund Avallon, were set a few weeks ago. That was enough for UOKiK to give its approval.

Ceko in 2021 had 125 million PLN revenue and 3 million PLN net profit. A year earlier, this company’s revenue was PLN 106 million and net profit was PLN 1.8 million. On the other hand, Polmlek in 2020 had the revenue of almost 2.4 billion PLN and the company’s profit reached 73.4 million PLN.

Jerzy Borucki, who together with Andrzej Grabowski controls Polmlek, says that Ceko is part of the group’s development vision, which wants to increase production capacity and exports.
