Expensive coal plunges chemical industry
Record coal prices could spell financial disaster for many chemical companies.
The high cost of coal raises the costs of chemical companies. This will affect their results and lower the competitiveness of Polish companies. They may also have problems with profitability.
Ciech company, which is the biggest industrial recipient of coal in our country, must count with serious problems. Annually it uses about a million tons of raw material. It employs tens of thousands of people. Coal prices will also affect Grupa Azoty, PCC and Synthos.
Troubles of chemical companies will be also felt by consumers, if the rates for heat delivery go up.
