The risk of food service bankruptcies is growing

The catering industry has been hit hard by inflation. Rising costs may lead to many bankruptcies in this sector.

Restaurants associated in the Northern Chamber of Commerce in Szczecin report that many restaurants will find it difficult to survive in the current conditions. Prices of food products, energy and gas are rising dramatically. Costs of employees are also rising, and customers are less and less likely to eat out, refraining from spending money. At the same time, prices are rising day by day. Restaurateurs are raising prices, too, but they can’t pass them on to their customers. They fear that they will be turned away.

President of the Northern Chamber of Commerce in Szczecin warns that if the situation does not change, restaurants will go bankrupt. Recently, several restaurants in Szczecin have closed down. Two legendary milk bars have also gone bankrupt.
