Companies are looking to save money

Nearly two-thirds of companies have raised prices in response to rising energy and raw material prices. Another 18 percent of businesses are planning such a move.

Companies are looking for ways to survive in an era of rising energy and raw material prices. A survey by the Polish Economic Institute and the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego shows that to do so, two-thirds of them have decided to raise the rates of their goods or services. Another 18 percent intend to do so. Increases are planned mainly by micro and medium-sized companies. Prices are rising mainly at manufacturers. Construction companies are the least likely to raise them.

In addition, entrepreneurs are looking for savings in various areas. Mainly they are implementing technologies that reduce energy costs or limit their consumption. Only 8 percent of companies are planning layoffs.
