More redundancies in the tech industry.
Representatives of more and more technology companies decide to take corrective action in the form of employment restructuring. The company that runs the online auction site – eBay and the Internet portal – Yahoo, has just announced its plans in this regard. 500 people will lose their jobs in the first of the above-mentioned companies. According to the representatives of this service, the reorganization of the company’s current operations is a necessity resulting from the desire to start new investments. However, they ensure that each of the dismissed employees will be able to count on support. In turn, the range of layoffs at Yahoo is wider. 1,000 employees in the advertising department will lose their jobs on the portal. Taking such steps is a consequence of conceptual changes in the field of further marketing activities.
It is worth recalling that these are not the first redundancies in large technology consortia. Previously, such decisions were made in: Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Philips.
