Restructuring of Grupa Żywiec
One of Grupa Żywiec’s breweries will soon be liquidated.
The brewing industry is another sector of the economy that is feeling the effects of the current uncertain economic situation. The widespread increase in the prices of electricity, raw materials and excise tax translated into the financial situation of Grupa Żywiec. Despite recording an increase in revenues for the previous year by nearly 11.5%, net profit fell by as much as 73%. This forced the representatives of the company to take decisive steps. Therefore, a decision was made to liquidate one of the breweries owned by the company. We are talking about the Leżajsk Brewery. Moreover, the company submitted an application to the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (PFSA) for permission to delist its shares from the Warsaw Stock Exchange. It is worth noting that Grupa Żywiec was the oldest participant listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. I made my debut there in the early 90s of the last century.
