Mass wave of dismissals in the technology industry.
A company involved in the supply of telecommunications services and technologies – Ericsson – informed about the need to restructure employment. The reduction of the full -time jobs is to be large -scale and covers 8.5 thousand employees with its reach.
Ericsson is another company from the technology industry where exemptions will be carried out. Earlier, we reported that such a step was decided by, among others: Microsoft, Yahoo, E-Bay, Amazon, Meta, and Philips. Therefore, we can already talk about mass layoffs in this industry. They are caused by the need to adapt to the changing reality. Currently, it is shaped by a widely prevailing uncertain economic situation, which caused a decrease in demand. And this, in turn, forces technological giants to revise the plans developed along with the pandemic of Coronavirus, when the interest in their services increased.
