Intersport Polska has found an investor

The Intersport Polska chain of stores has acquired an investor.

The French company Intersport was founded in the late 1960s. As part of the services provided, it sells branded tourist and sporting goods. It does so through subsidiaries located in countries associated under their aegis. It is no different in the case of a branch located in Poland.

For nearly two years, representatives of the Polish branch have been declaring that it is necessary to raise approximately PLN 80 million to ensure further development of the company. To this end, they started looking for an investor. Looks like they just found it. Talks are underway with EpicentrK – a Ukrainian chain of well-prospering DIY stores. According to the arrangements made so far, EpicentrK is to acquire shares of the new issue of the company. In return, the company will receive EUR 10 million. The agreement is to be finalized within the next month after meeting a number of conditions typical for this type of transaction.

The funds received will be used to implement the development strategy of Intersport Polska. The company has prepared a large-scale plan that includes the development of: integrated multi-channel distribution of goods (omnichannel), an online store, a loyalty program, applications and the opening of new stores.
