H&M continues the process of liquidation of stationary stores.
In the third quarter of last year, the Swedish chain of clothing stores H&M announced the need to optimize its operations. To this end, a restructuring plan was developed and implemented. As part of the measures taken, the number of brick-and-mortar stores was systematically reduced. Several hundred facilities in Germany and Great Britain ceased to exist. This was justified by the decline in interest in purchasing clothing in brick-and-mortar stores. Online shopping is much more popular. According to current announcements, the process of closing stores is to be continued.
H&M is not an isolated case. It is worth recalling that only in the last few weeks, several well-known clothing chains (including Peek&Cloppenburg and Gerry Weber) have announced similar decisions.
