The British chain of construction and renovation supermarkets, Castorama, has been present on the Polish market for twenty-five years. During this time, it has managed to gain recognition and considerable popularity, thanks to the operation of about 100 large-format stores. Its unflagging interest is evidenced by the reported financial results counted in billions of zlotys. Last year’s figures show a 15% increase in sales. These numbers confirm the words of representatives of the chain, who are aware of the difficult economic situation, but, as they note, do not notice a decrease in interest in the assortment gathered in supermarkets. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, an increase in spending on the renovation of houses and apartments has been noticed, which still persists. This confirms the chain’s managers in the belief that it is right to set up smaller stores. These have already been created and will continue to be created. In this way, they respond to the needs of consumers about the universal availability of goods and the speed of shopping.
