1100 bankruptcies and restructuring in 2018

According to the data presented in the report of Export Credit Insurance Corporation, the year 2018 will end with a total of 1100 bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings. During the last year, 618 enterprises closed down, i.e. by 5.6% more than in 2017.

The analysis of data made by the Export Credit Insurance Corporation shows that the situation in the construction industry is stabilising. Most likely, after the crisis in 2012, entrepreneurs learned how to react in advance to potential threats.

On the other hand, the situation in the transport sector is deteriorating. Lack of qualified drivers’ staff and high fuel prices have an impact on the margin achieved, which translates into problems with the solvency of entrepreneurs. In addition, operating costs may increase in the middle of 2020 due to the change in the rules for posted workers.
