Corporate sentiment has worsened

The mood in companies is slightly worse than even a quarter earlier. However, there is still no sign of recession on the horizon.

This is the general conclusion of the quarterly report of the National Bank of Poland (NBP) on the situation in companies. What’s positive is that firms still have a good view of foreign orders. Moreover, the percentage of entrepreneurs, who want to increase employment and have vacancies, is considerable. However, the data looks all too good, which may indicate overheating in the economy.

The fact that the index of current assessment of the situation of enterprises deteriorated in the past quarter for the first time since the second quarter of 2020 may be worrying. The investment plans indicator is also weaker.
