Polish State Railways on the model

Railway owners around the world want them to be profitable and operate efficiently. It is for this purpose that restructuring processes are to be undertaken.

We are talking about restructuring, which should cover both employment in the railway and infrastructure. This topic is topical in Tanzania and Kazakhstan. Railway owners in both of these countries conduct discussions with World Bank experts in order to work out the principles of cooperation on this topic.

In the opinion of World Bank experts, the restructuring that Polish State Railways underwent in 2012-2015 may be a good example of successful remedial actions.
