Automotive debt is growing

Small and medium-sized companies in the automotive industry are increasingly in debt. Especially workshops, manufacturers and dealers are struggling with the crisis.

The National Debt Register lists 12.5 thousand automotive companies. Since March last year, their number has increased by 101, while the value of unpaid liabilities in this industry has grown by 70.1 million PLN to 446 million PLN. Most debts are owed by distributors of parts and vehicles (265.1 million PLN) and workshops (155.8 million PLN). The situation of such companies may get even worse in the future because they are heavily dependent on manufacturers. And car factories are struggling with downtimes due to the lack of supply of semiconductors.

Entrepreneurs from the automotive industry have the most unpaid debts to banks and insurance companies. Then there are securitization funds and debt collection companies.
