Changes are being made to the bank protection system

In the coal allowance bill, the government has proposed changes to expand the bank protection system.

There were proposed amendments to the Banking Law and the Law on the Bank Guarantee Fund (BFG), the deposit guarantee system and forced restructuring. They assume that banks will be able to count on support not only in the case of a decision to apply the instrument of forced restructuring in the form of a company takeover. This will also be possible with the use of other instruments of forced restructuring. At the same time, the BFG will also be able to apply for support. Currently, this can be done by an entity interested in taking over a bank. This is to enable the BFG to act also in a situation when the takeover of the bank will not be possible, or another way of restructuring will prove better.
