The Massimo Dutti brand is struggling with financial problems.
The Spanish clothing holding – Inditex – has several well-known and popular brands in its portfolio: Pull&Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Zara, Massimo Dutti. Of these, the three listed first offer informal clothing aimed at younger customers. In turn, the oldest and most recognizable brand – Zara – has both formal and informal clothes in its assortment. On the other hand, in stores with the Massimo Dutti sign, elegant clothes are sold. And it is the stores of the latter brand that are struggling with financial problems. They start in 2020. With the advent of the coronavirus pandemic and the spread of remote work, consumer habits have changed. The demand for business clothing decreased significantly at that time. According to Inditex representatives, this was the first factor that weakened Massimo Dutti’s position. Last year, the situation was made worse by the invasion of Ukraine. The stores of this brand located in Roski have been closed. It is worth adding that they had a strong representation there. These two aspects contributed to the fact that Massimo Dutti recorded a decrease in revenues by nearly 10% last year.
