Another restructuring
The Independent Public Healthcare Institution (SP ZOZ) in Sokółka is undergoing restructuring once again.
SP ZOZ has been in a difficult financial situation for several years and constantly records losses. For the last year, the loss reached nearly PLN 3.2 million. According to representatives of the poviat council, this situation results from the negative image of the hospital, which was caused by the poor technical condition of the facility and negative opinions of local patients.
Pursuant to the provisions of law, the recipe for healing situations in which financial losses are recorded is the development and implementation of a three-year recovery plan. Due to the fact that the financial situation of SP ZOZ in Sokółka is not the best every year, this facility has no chance to complete the implementation of the already prepared plan and is forced to prepare further restructuring plans. This was also done this time. The new plan requires:
- increasing the share of the facility in the medical market,
- improving the quality of services provided,
- adaptation to the needs of patients,
- improvement of the financial situation.
As the director of SP ZOZ in Sokółka emphasizes, the intended restructuring is a development restructuring aimed at improving the conditions in the hospital. What’s more, he emphasizes that the appropriate actions have already been taken, but they are still in the implementation phase, so we have to wait for their effects.
