Hospitals in debt to parabanks
Hospitals repair their budgets by taking payday loans in parabanks.
The financial situation of some hospitals is difficult. The problem with meeting the budget results from the law passed in May. Under this legal act, the issue of remuneration of certain healthcare professionals has been regulated. This, in turn, forced the introduction of increases, which turned out to be problematic for some healthcare entities. And although the Ministry of Health systematically allocates additional funds counted in millions, the effects of these activities have to wait. Some hospital directors cannot afford it. This leads them to seek help in parabanks and take out “payday loans”. Experts warn that such decisions may have a number of unpleasant consequences in the form of taking out more loans to repay existing liabilities.
It is worth recalling that this is not a new problem. Hospitals have been struggling with it for several months. We already mentioned this in September.
