Merger of dairy cooperatives

Merger of dairy cooperatives

Mlekpol takes over Jogo cooperatives.

A few years ago, the Jogo dairy cooperative was struggling financially. At the end of 2020, they became the reason for undertaking restructuring activities aimed at improving the profitability of the company. The search for an investor ready to continue the operation of the cooperative has also begun. They now appear to have been successful. There was an agreement between representatives of the Jogo cooperative and representatives of one of the largest Polish dairy cooperatives – Mlekpol. Mlekpol has already applied to the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) for permission to take over the current competitor. It seems that the original idea of the Mlekpol cooperative will come true. Well, at the beginning of 2020, the cooperative already expressed its desire to take over Jogo. Eventually, however, she withdrew from this idea.

It is worth recalling that this is not the only acquisition among dairy cooperatives in recent times. In the third quarter of last year, the final takeover of the Bielmlek cooperative by the Polindus – Laktopol Group took place. Previously, Bielmlek struggled with numerous problems. From March 2020, it was undergoing restructuring, and in March 2021, it was declared bankrupt.
