The debt of the TSL industry is growing

Currently, the debt of the TSL industry is estimated at PLN 1.3 billion.

The first months of 2023 did not fill representatives of the transport, forwarding and logistics industry with optimism. Problems resulting from the rising costs of running a business and a significant decline in demand for services provided by this sector of the economy, reaching 15-25%, were becoming more and more noticeable. Over the past 11 months, these problems have deepened even more, as confirmed by the data presented in the report “Road transport in Poland 2023” prepared on behalf of the Transport and Logistics Employers’ Association in Poland. The consequence of these difficulties is the growing debt of representatives of this industry. Data collected in the National Debt Register (KRD) show that there are 29.3 thousand companies in the TSL industry. debtors. Of these, the largest group (21,000) deals with road transport of goods and is in debt of approximately PLN 1 billion. Next came companies engaged in passenger transport (4.4 thousand) with a debt estimated at PLN 128 million, and even further (2.2 thousand) companies dealing in warehousing and transport support services (PLN 107 million). . Moreover, the prospects for next year are even more uncertain. It is predicted that another, increasingly more problematic problem will be difficulties in recruiting employees.
