The construction industry in crisis
The construction industry is another sector of the economy feeling the effects of the crisis.
There is a significant decrease in the number of commenced construction investments. This applies to both private and public investments. It is the result of many interrelated factors. One of them is high economic uncertainty. It consists of: a significant increase in the prices of electricity, building materials, costs of running a business. These aspects are taken into account by development companies, which for these reasons have limited plans related to starting new investments. Attention should also be paid to the increase in lending requirements by banks. This naturally translated into a decrease in the number of potential creditworthy customers.
Experts point out that the crisis is not yet felt with the same intensity within the construction sector. Well, there is still intensive work being carried out in the so-called finishing. However, this is always the last stage of all ongoing investments, so the effects of the current situation are postponed and will be felt here as well, but later.
