Bankruptcies and restructurings in October 2019

The latest KUKE report shows that in October 2019, 52 entrepreneurs were declared bankrupt and 36 restructuring proceedings were opened.

This means that the number of bankruptcy proceedings increased by 6.1% as compared to the number of proceedings in September 2019. At the same time, this number is 22.4% lower than the number of bankruptcies announced in October 2018. As regards restructuring proceedings, the number of open proceedings is 30.8% lower than in September 2019 and 33.3% lower than in the corresponding period of 2018.

As KUKE specialists indicate, the main factor of economic growth in Poland at the moment is consumer demand, and in terms of investments made by private foreign companies. Currently, the growing labour costs remain the main risk factor for domestic entrepreneurs. Additionally, the liquidity situation of companies that have been subject to the split payment obligation since November 2019 should be observed.
