In the face of recent decisions, PKN Orlen is getting closer to acquiring PGNiG.
In July last year, it was officially announced that PKN Orlen was going to take over Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG).
At that time, both companies applied to the European Commission (EC) to examine the effects of the concentration. The European Commission referred the case the office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). It is worth recalling that over the past several months, PKN Orlen has been working hard to expand the scope of its activities.
