The clothing industry in crisis
Other clothing chains are struggling with financial problems.
In early March, the German fashion chain Peek & Cloppenburg filed for bankruptcy. As a result of this decision, several dozen stores located in Germany will be closed. The Massimo Dutti brand belonging to the Spanish clothing holding Inditex is also facing financial problems. The Dutch chain Scotch & Soda is also not free from such problems. Despite a long, 30-year history supported by tens of thousands of stores located in different parts of the world, it declared bankruptcy. However, it seems that the company will still exist. Well, the desire to buy this chain was expressed by an American company – Bluestar Alliance – managing consumer brands. The Polish company Marie Zélie is in a similar situation. The restructuring proceedings initiated a year ago were not successful. As a result, it was announced that a bankruptcy petition was to be filed. Representatives of the brand declare, however, that there is a chance to continue operating through the purchase of the company by a newly established American company. However, it is necessary to attract investors.
