Consequences of the bankruptcy of the Bielmlek cooperative
The bankruptcy of the Bielmlek cooperative carries a number of consequences.
With the declaration of bankruptcy of the cooperative, a trustee was appointed who was entrusted with the task of conducting bankruptcy proceedings.
According to the findings, the receiver intends to sell the property of the cooperative. For this purpose, it tries to establish contact with potential interested parties. Among them, there is still the Polindus-Laktopol Capital Group, which has already leased the Bielmlek cooperatives and obtained the approval of the Office of Consumer Protection and Competition (UOKiK) for its purchase, but this coincided with the court’s decision on the bankruptcy of the plant.
The consequence of the actions taken will be the termination of the employment relationship with the employees of the cooperative. In turn, farmers – shareholders of Bielmlek will be called to settle the outstanding amount of shares, which is currently estimated at PLN 50,000. It is worth adding that some of them are also creditors of the cooperative.
