Establishment of CCGT Ostrołęka
A consent was given for the establishment of CCGT Ostrołęka.
The consent was issued by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) at the request of PKN Orlen, Energa and PGNiG. The three indicated entities intend to build a gas block in Ostrołęka.
The planned investment is to replace the construction of the Ostrołęka C coal-fired unit, which was suspended last year. The aforementioned unit was built, with breaks, since 2011. The final decision to withdraw from this investment was dictated by the lack of profitability.
It is worth adding that this is another initiative recently undertaken by PKN Orlen.
