Layoffs in the entertainment industry
The situation for leading representatives of the entertainment industry looks bleak.
Representatives of the Japanese consumer electronics manufacturer – Sony – announced that they had decided to carry out a large-scale restructuring. As part of the planned activities, 900 people will be dismissed, i.e. approximately 8% of employees. Moreover, the London PlayStation studio will be closed. Sony is not the only representative of this industry that has recently taken such radical steps. A month ago, Microsoft Gaming representatives also announced similar actions. In this case, the layoffs will cover nearly 2,000 employees.
It is worth recalling that last year many technology giants decided to restructure employment, including: Philips, Ericsson, Meta, Spotify.
