The Commissioner for Human Rights demands explanations

The RPO demands explanations related to the takeover of Polska Press by PKN Orlen.

The Commissioner for Human Rights unsuccessfully tried to obtain permission to inspect the documents on the basis of which the office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) approved the takeover of Polska Press by PKN Orlen. Therefore, he appealed to the court against the consent of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection for the said takeover. The steps taken are motivated by doubts as to the properly conducted antitrust proceedings and the possibility of threatening the freedom of the press.

The President of UOKiK constantly refutes the allegations.
